Citizens Journal Florida regards July 4- Independence Day- as the nation’s most joyful, important non-religious holiday.
Our Founders, who were mostly Christian- in fact about half of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were ordained ministers- the so-called “Black Robe Regiment”- demonstrated incredible bravery, foresight, wisdom and perseverance. Many of other faiths, or no religious faith, pitched in to make the idea a reality. They truly pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to build this fabled nation, overcoming the frightening resources of the world’s greatest superpower of the era to become the independent United States of America.
No, it wasn’t perfect and still isn’t. Many of its ills were baked into the colonial system that we inherited and eventually broke mostly free of. We have mostly improved it since then, but with some notable setbacks. To those who attack it and make all kinds of accusations, we reject the premises of the “1619” crowd and instead embrace the 1776 patriots. We reject the forces trying to divide our beloved nation by race, sex, class, faith and wacko theories about open borders, pandemic measures, climate, crime, “gender”, Globalist Socialism, supposedly fair elections and attempts to destroy or radically transform our Constitution, faith and culture.
If the USA is so bad, why are untold millions of foreigners literally crashing our border to get here and the most vociferous critics not leaving as some threatened to?
We are now faced with some of the greatest challenges to the USA ever, in the form of subversion- both internal and external. Pundits previously warned us that the internal threats are the greatest. Our observations are that most Americans are not aware of the severity or imminence of the threats. Others actually support the forces and ideas alien to what made us great. Still more have given up or were never willing to make the effort to preserve and improve our Democratic Republic, which has real Judeo-Christian roots.
Fortunately, we’re seeing increasing awareness of and pushback against the aforementioned threats. Citizens Journal Florida is composed of patriots, mostly of faith, dedicated to preserving and improving what we have here in this blessed, but troubled nation. This publication is our gift to you to address some of this via informing the public. Most of us could be off doing other things if we didn’t think that this was needed. We hope that you agree and need your help to succeed.
