Press Release
By Judge John Marshall Meisburg, Jr., 6-21-25
We have a lot of parades on Amelia Island. We have a Shrimp Parade, a Gay Pride Parade, and many others. But we believe we need a parade to honor America and our great Christian heritage!
So this coming Saturday, June 28, the Christians of Nassau County from many churches will honor the Christian Heritage of America with a parade from 10 AM to 11AM. We will gather in Central Park, proceed down Ash Street to the water, and then back up Centre Street to Central Park. We will have floats and cars and trucks and marchers.
After the parade, from 11am to 1pm we will have a dynamic Faith Festival in Central Park with patriotic speeches, Christian music, games for the kids, 16 Christian vendors, and 6 food trucks!
We have had some opposition to our parade because of our Statement of Faith which states that marriage is only between one man and one woman. But in Matthew 19:4-6, Jesus said this was so, and we are told to speak the truth in love! Ephesians 4:15.
The Christian heritage of America cannot be denied, and was critical to the success of our nation. Columbus came to our shores to share the Gospel with the New World. The writers of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were guided by the Bible and the teachings of Christ more than any other source. The Father of our country, George Washington, was a devout Christian who prayed daily and due to his faith and courage led us to victory in the Revolutionary War.
So please join us on Saturday, June 28! To be in the parade with a car or truck or van or to march, you must register by Monday June 23 on our website, Christianheritagefest. com, and you can access that website by scanning the QR code on our flyer below.
You can also register to be a Sponsor of Vendor on the same website!
Please go to www.christianheritagefest.com, our new website to register to be in the parade, to be a sponsor, and/or to be a vendor in the Faith Festival. The registration fee to be in the parade (with a car or truck or float or march ) is $25. Sponsor levels are at $250 to $1000. Vendors may set up a tent in the park for $50. A parade and festival cost thousands of dollars (permits, security etc.) and these fees defray those costs.
Editor’s note: spectators do not need to register.
