Finally! That’s all I can say. The U.S. has finally struck back against the Iranian-backed Houthi’s in Yemen, who have shut down commercial shipping through the Suez Canal. The news on Thursday evening that the U.S. and the UK had struck 60 targets in Yemen, at 16 locations, was long overdue. Remember that the Iranians have launched more than 130 attacks against U.S. interests across the region using proxies such as the Houthis. Until now, the Pentagon has just launched pinprick reprisal strikes. Now, of course the Cassandras on the Left are screaming and tearing their hair, saying that Iran will retaliate by bombing Saudi oil facilities, which indeed is possible. For decades, the fear of Iranian reprisals has been used as an excuse for tolerating Iranian regime aggression. Iran hits us, and hits us, and hits us again, but we can’t strike back because they might hit us once more. It’s time for that to stop. The strikes against the Houthis were not the only U.S. military action recently. On Jan. 4, the U.S. carried out what it called a “precision airstrike” in the heart of Baghdad that killed the head of a pro-Iranian militia. Mushtaq Jawed Kazim al-Jawari, also known as Abu Taqwa, was “actively involved in planing and carrying out attacks against American personnel,” a U.S. official told Voice of America. The strike was a gutsy move for an administration not known for its intestinal fortitude, because Jabari’s Iranian-backed group, the Harakat-al-Nujaba, had been integrated into the Iraqi armed forces during the campaign against ISIS. Predictably, the Iraqi prime minister – another Iranian-backed shill – called for the remaining U.S. forces to leave Iraq. Maybe we should take him up on it and accept a long-standing invitation from the Kurds to move north to Erbil. I discuss these growing tensions with Iran, as well as the outrageous South African “genocide” trial against Israel at the International Court of Justice in the Hague in this week’s edition of Prophecy Today. As always, you can listen live at 1 PM on Saturday on 104.9 FM and 550 AM in the Jacksonville, Fl, area, or by using the Jacksonville Way Radio app. If you miss it, here’s the link to the podcast. One more bit of news this week. I have the great honor of having been inducted into the America First Policy Institute as a Senior Fellow. You will hear more about my work with this pre-eminent conservative think tank as we lay the policy groundwork for the next administration in the coming weeks and months. Yours in freedom, Ken |
