I must say that I was a bit disappointed with the Presidential debate- never mind that it was between candidates who haven’t even been nominated. CNN wasn’t as bad as expected, kept order, but the questions were skewed against Trump somewhat and didn’t fully address some of the things going on right now under Biden.
Biden stayed on his feet and only bumbled a few times, which exceeded expectations, but outrageously spewed many times debunked lies over and over- Charlottesville, election, Ukraine, Russia, etc. I guess DNC is banking on the Nazi big lie principle. He has a very poor record to defend, which was a major debating disadvantage, so his handlers armed him with all the hit jobs and lies he could remember and repeat.
Maybe I’m too biased, but I thought Trump had more going for him than Biden. Biden’s loss was more from having a poor record than not being too sharp. In other words he didn’t lose it just because he can’t handle a debate- and was painfully evident that he couldn’t.
What is amazing and really humorous is seeing the Leftmedia and many so-called pundits now express shock that Biden doesn’t know what is going on and has severe cognitive problems. This has been evident to me and many I know for at least 10 years and it has only gotten worse. Another lie obvious to us is that good ole Uncle Joe was a kindly, moderate old gentlemen. He is none of those. They are either lying B____s, or totally incompetent and/or think you are stupid enough to believe them while they covered up for him for so long to advance their own interests.
Trump’s answers were pretty good but some exaggerations hurt his credibility. I thought he missed some good kill shots, almost like Romney did against the weaker Obama in 2012. He tried to wing it and didn’t do enough prep work. He wasn’t given enough time to rebut Biden’s many untruths. But, heck two one and a half hour sessions aren’t enough to explore everything wrong with the president and country, as screwed up as it is right now. I can never remember it being worse and my memory goes back to Eisenhower. I was too young to remember Truman and during Eisenhower all I had was MSM.
I wrote up previous presidential debates and even traveled to debates and covered them on site for the 2016 election. It was there I realized that the candidates gave all their attention to the big media names and just put us in huge rooms with internet connections, let us in for a couple of minutes to take photos of the candidates, back to the big rooms, then to the spin room afterward. But all the big name candidates were taken up by the big media people and we only got to talk to people like Hillary press flacks, an aide to Ted Cruz and personally met Mike Huckabee and Ben Carson. Carson was the most impressive guy I met. I saw the best 2016 Dem candidate campaign melt down before my eyes as the Dem audience in Vegas booed him and he quietly dropped out 3 days later.
So, I don’t think I’ll spend time writing an article on the debate details, because many nationally known writers are already doing that, so I won’t be adding much value. Instead I will concentrate more on our countywide publication Citizens Journal Florida, since the predominant Liberal media here is slanting coverage badly and the other Conservative media really has far less content that we do. I may debunk the lying left wing political columnist in the local lefty print paper who prevaricates even more than Biden, though.
Even though he is boorish, childish and arrogant, I favor Trump because he is:
- The biggest anti-Globalist since George Washington.
- America first.
- Right on most of the important issues and is more likely to appoint like-minded people- issues such as border/immigration, energy, foreign affairs, security, crime, law enforcement, military, climate, economy, inflation, wokeism, censorship, hi-tech, employment and more.
- Opposed by an alternative which is truly frightening and dangerous- corrupt, incompetent, anti-American, anti-Conservative, anti-constitutional, anti-Christian, irrational, illogical. I feel like we have an alien presence in charge, inimical to our best interests.
