What Happens To JD Vance’s Ohio Senate Seat If He Becomes VP?
Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) will be former President Trump’s vice presidential nominee, Trump announced Monday at the outset of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. The first-term senator has been one of Trump’s most vocal supporters in recent months, and was strongly backed by Donald Trump, Jr. as the former president’s best pick to be second in command.
A promotion to the White House after a potential November election victory would now leave Ohio without one of its senators. Here’s what happens if Vance is elected vice president: If Vance is elected to higher office, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) would select his immediate replacement in the Senate.
Vance was first elected in 2022 with a term slated to end in 2028. According to Ohio state law, his governor-appointed successor would face a special election in November 2026 to vote on who will complete the term.

Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue At RNC: Trump ‘Will Bring Nation Closer To God’
Donald Trump will bring the United States “closer to God” if he is elected in November, Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue said during his Republican National Convention (RNC) speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Monday evening. “Four years ago, I dared to say that we were blessed by Donald J. Trump — a builder. But more than a builder, he’s a courageous leader, and he will bring this nation closer to God. He will bring strength to America, and he will bring prosperity back to America,” Unanue said.
The Hispanic business leader was targeted by a failed AOC-led boycott of his company in 2020 because he had the temerity to praise Donald Trump’s leadership. In response, Unanue made Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) (D-NY) the Goya employee of the month because she increased the company’s sales with her boycott.

Democrat Moved To Tears By Speakers At RNC “It’s Just So Beautiful”
A Democrat voter took to social media to share how watching the speakers at the RNC, something she has never done before caused a seismic shift in her and the beauty of the love for America and the diversity she is seeing, and the reality that she has been lied to about the MAGA movement brought her to tears.
She shared: “I’ve been a Democrat for nearly 50 years. Why am I crying over the Republican National Convention?— I think I’m crying because it’s cognitive dissonance. Like what is going on, I’ve been told my whole life, Republicans are just all, you know, white and racist men and all of this. I don’t think I’ve probably ever watched a Republican National Convention.”
“You don’t know unless you go see for yourself and stop listening to what people tell you. It’s just so beautiful. Just the patriotism, the coming together. I’m telling you, if you on the outside and you think MAGA is this horrible thing, I don’t know what to tell you besides you have to see for yourself.
It’s beautiful. It’s so beautiful. The coming together of America. America saying no more, no longer. We’re not gonna do this. We’re not gonna divide ourselves. We are red, white, and blue. It’s beautiful.”

DNC Scheming To Nominate Biden Weeks Before Convention
The Democratic National Committee is reportedly trying to move up its technical nominating process to head off any opposition to President Joe Biden’s nomination next month. The scheme is the latest maneuver by team Biden to survive the onslaught of calls for him to step aside after the infamous presidential debate.
If successful, the octogenarian only has to outlast calls for him to quit for two more weeks, Axios reported:
- Once Biden receives votes from a majority of the nearly 4,000 delegates, it will become exceedingly difficult to remove him from atop the Democratic presidential ticket.
- The DNC’s current plan is to train state party chairs next week on how to conduct the electronic voting in a secure way. The window for voting is likely to open on July 29 and conclude by Aug. 5, according to people familiar with the matter.
- In late May, the Democratic National Committee announced plans to nominate its ticket via a virtual roll call weeks before the party’s convention in Chicago, which starts Aug. 19. But they didn’t provide a firm date.
Biden already resisted calls for him to step aside, claiming he is the best candidate to beat former President Donald Trump. “I’m the nominee of this party because 14 million Democrats like you voted for me in the primaries,” Biden said Friday in Detroit.

Joe Biden To Resume Framing Donald Trump As ‘Threat to Democracy’ After Assassination Attempt
President Joe Biden will reportedly continue to frame former President Donald Trump as a threat to democracy following the assassination attempt that nearly killed the former president.
The Biden campaign paused its attacks against Trump after the assassination attempt on Saturday, but those attacks are set to resume in Nevada on Tuesday, contradicting Biden’s calls for unity.
Many political strategists, for months, criticized the Biden campaign for making its central pitch to voters about how Trump is a threat to democracy, an issue that is outflanked by soaring costs, the economy, and the open southern border, polls show. A majority of independent voters believe Biden is a greater threat to democracy than Trump, according to an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll from May.
Concerns deepened about the viability of Biden’s pitch following the assassination attempt. Politicians on both sides of the aisle called for a de-escalation of inflammatory rhetoric, yet Biden’s plan to resume his well-worn attack defies his pledge to unify the nation.

Security Left The Gates Wide Open At Trump Rally
Jim Hulings is the Butler County GOP Chair. He had only recently been elected to the volunteer position when, on Saturday, he found himself in the VIP section of the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as shots rang out during the nation’s most recent presidential assassination attempt. Hulings said he felt the security at the event was “bizarre” because it closely searched and inspected some in the crowd, but let others in with no security whatsoever.
What Hulings is describing is that Trump rallies typically have two entrances: general admission and expedited entry, which is typically for elected officials and others. Both groups are subject to the same security screenings, including metal detectors and pat downs, to ensure that nothing is brought in that might be dangerous to the President or attendees. But what Hulings explains is that security in Butler, Pennsylvania let in at least hundreds of General Admission attendees with no screening.

Is Trump A Different Man After The Assassination Attempt? A Transformation Was Witnessed At The RNC
Donald Trump’s personality is either his greatest asset or his worst trait, depending on who you talk to. Republicans revere the fearless leader and are refreshed by his unabashed candidness. Democrats, who are often the object of his frankness, call him a “bully,” abusive, and offensive. There is very little middle ground with someone as unique as Trump. You either love him or hate him.
However, at the RNC Thursday night, America saw a different side of Trump. Many spectators agree that Trump appears to be a changed man after the assassination attempt. He was humbled, and emanated gratitude and tenderness. There were moments when he seemed emotionally moved and touched. When he retold the story of the attempt, which he said he would only tell once because of how painful it was to recall, no one could deny the conviction in his voice and the emotion on his face.
Tucker Carson is one of the people who have described this turning point: “I watched the video of what happened in Butler, Pennsylvania, about fifteen—fifty times… The more I watched it, the more it struck me that everything was different after that moment. Everything. This convention is different. The nation is different. The world is different. Donald Trump is different.”
When Trump recalled the story of the assassination attempt, one of the most moving details was how he remembered that the crowd did not run when the bullets were shot. Not a soul moved, which is actually quite peculiar for a large crowd during a shooting. Trump believes the people stayed there with him, not leaving his side in his most harrowing hour. He said when he was on the stage, under the Secret Service agents who rushed to protect him, he felt peace and safety because he knew God was on his side. An experience like this marks a person forever.

Nine Secret Service Failures that Nearly Led to Former President Donald Trump Being Assassinated
Former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated a week ago, as he spoke at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday in what is seen as the largest Secret Service failure in four decades. Here are nine major Secret Service security failures we know of so far that need to be addressed:
- The rooftop that Crooks fired at Trump from was an obvious security risk.
- Secret Service allowed local law enforcement to be placed inside the building instead of on the rooftop.
- There was a lack of security of the building on the ground, allowing Crooks
to access the rooftop.
- Local law enforcement first spotted Crooks near a magnetometer with a range
finder around 3 p.m. — about three hours before Trump spoke — but then was lost track of.
- Despite local law enforcement officers reportedly spotting Crooks about an hour before Trump was to speak hanging around outside the building, and during that time, seen scoping the rooftop, returning with a backpack and pulling out a range finder and reporting him to a command center, he was not stopped and questioned.
- Secret Service reportedly spotted Crooks at 5:52 p.m. on the rooftop — about 20 minutes before Trump took the stage, but did not stop Trump from taking the stage.
- Despite Crooks pulling out his weapon, and getting into position to shoot Trump, Secret Service snipers did not do anything before he fired at Trump.
- Trump took the stage at 6:02 p.m., but nothing was done to get him off the stage for 10 minutes, until Crooks was able to fire at him.
- There was no drone surveillance of the rally that could have alerted law enforcement to Crooks climbing to the rooftop sooner.

Harris Files With FEC To Take Biden’s Place on the Democrat Ticket
It has been made official: Kamala Harris has filed with the FEC to replace Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election. This comes quickly after Biden announced that he would not be seeking reelection, throwing the Democratic party into a frenzy. While leading Democrats like Obama and Pelosi left Harris out of their comments, many speculated whether the vice president would be the nominee.
As RedState has recently reported, Biden has banked nearly $100 million dollars in his campaign war chest. Some opine that the rules indicate that it can now only go to Kamala and not other potential candidates, but there are varying interpretations of how this money could be allocated. It’s one of a number of complicated questions the Democrats face going forward.
The announcement and lack of clarity have caused the media, X platform users, and members of the Democratic party to scramble. It doesn’t seem like this is a very well-executed handoff, if that’s what it is. Of course, did we expect it to be well executed coming from the Biden administration?
Harris’ filing with the FEC doesn’t necessarily mean that the delegates will cast their votes for her at the DNC, which will take place in the third week of August. It’s not done until it’s done. But it does mean that she intends to try to get that $100 million and fight for the spot. Most likely, the party will come behind her. If they don’t, we should expect a bloodbath of a fight. It’s already been said that failure to nominate her would be an offense on black women everywhere.
If she fails to be nominated, it will only reflect what a poor candidate she is. The Democratic party is desperate right now after Trump’s popularity has been soaring and Biden’s has declined after the debate. Most likely, in a fight to survive, they will unite behind her. But she has already been snubbed by being left out of Obama and Pelosi’s comments. It’s not a great start for our first black woman running for president of the United States of America.

If Biden Cannot Run For Office, Then He Cannot Remain In Office
Democrats successfully launched a soft coup against President Joe Biden after his senility became a political liability, with Biden announcing he would no longer seek the party’s nomination.
But if Biden cannot run for office due to the severe cognitive decline displayed during the debate, then dropping out of the nomination process isn’t enough. If Biden is too senile to run for president, he is too senile to remain in office.

Democrats ‘Rigged’ Primary For Biden Only To Push Him Out
President Joe Biden is stepping aside as the presumptive Democrat nominee after his party helped ensure he staved off a real primary challenge, effectively disenfranchising voters across the Democrat base. The effort began in December 2022 when Biden penned a letter to the Democrat National Committee asking for changes to the nominating process, including reordering the primary calendar.
The DNC moved to grant Biden’s requests a day later, first and foremost making South Carolina the first state to vote in the Democrat nominating process, breaking from the tradition of the Iowa Caucus being first. Importantly, South Carolina saved what looked to be Biden’s doomed campaign in 2020 after he had awful showings in the Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire primary. He placed fourth in Iowa before coming in fifth in New Hampshire and a very distant second in the Nevada Caucuses, where he lost to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) by 26 percentage points.
With Sanders steaming into South Carolina, then-House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (R-SC) endorsed Biden, helping him earn 48.6 percent of support and rejuvenating his campaign. By moving South Carolina to the forefront in 2024 and not recognizing New Hampshire’s delegates after it set its primary before any other states’ due to New Hampshire law — thus breaking with the DNC’s novel calendar — the DNC essentially set up Biden for an easier pathway to the nomination than he had in 2020, with South Carolina, the savior of his campaign, going first.
As far back as May 2023, there were documented concerns about Biden’s mental fitness and his age among Democrats and independents. A Harvard-Harris poll from that month showed about a quarter of Democrat respondents had doubts about Biden’s mental fitness, as did 65 percent of independents and 83 percent of Republicans. What is more, a third of Democrats said he was “showing he is too old to be president.” More than nine in ten Republicans and seven in ten independents agreed. The poll also found that 67 percent of Democrats said America “needs another choice” when asked if they were okay with Trump and Biden as hypothetical nominees of their respective parties.
Yet, Biden never saw a serious challenger, and by the time he appeared at that fateful June 27 debate that sunk his career and tarnished his legacy, he had won every nominating contest and earned 14 million votes.
Instead of millions of primary voters deciding on the nominee, some 4,600 delegates will do so at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month, effectively disenfranchising those who voted for Biden, those who voted for others, and those who never turned out to the ballot box because there was never a viable challenger to the president.

No One Claps as Chuck Schumer Endorses Harris for President; Asks for Applause, Still No One Claps
No one clapped when Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) formally and emphatically offered his support — and that of fellow Democrats — for Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat nominee in place of President Joe Biden, and the awkward moment went viral following his announcement Tuesday in a press conference.
A few seconds passed, which Schumer filled with awkward laughing before adding, “It’s a happy day. What can I say?” Another viral clip reveals this was not the only instance of Schumer attempting to get audible support during his press conference with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). Schumer attempted to tout Harris as the next President of United States, pumping his fist. After no one clapped, Schumer quickly smiled and called on Jeffries to take his turn after the second awkward moment with no applause for Harris.
According to a YouGov survey taken the day Biden announced he is no longer seeking reelection, just 37 percent believe Harris should be the Democrat nominee, while over one-third, 35 percent, believe it should be someone else. The same survey found that while 60 percent of Democrats said Harris should be the nominee, another 40 percent either think it should be someone else or are not sure. The breakdown of that 40 percent shows 21 percent of Democrats saying it should be “someone else,” and 19 percent remaining unsure.

Black Lives Matter Says Dems Are ‘Party Of Hypocrites’ For ‘Installing’ Harris
Sans ‘Public Voting Process’: ‘We Do Not Live In A Dictatorship.’
The left-wing organization Black Lives Matter is resisting the installation of Vice President Kamala Harris as the presumptive Democratic nominee and are calling on the Democratic National Convention “to create a process that allows for public participation in the nomination process, not just a nomination by party delegates.”
In a statement Tuesday, the group, which rose to prominence in 2020 for organizing nationwide protests in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, said that “a 24-hour process of talking to party bosses is not democratic, nor is it a process Democrats should be proud of.”
