The Newcomers Club of Amelia Island has been helping local charities for years. In 2007 the Community Service group of the club started the Give-a-Heart Raffle which is held every February.
This year’s recipient was the Nassau Habitat for Humanity. A check for $14,520 was presented to Carol Bolton and Cindy Jacobs of Habitat for Humanity by the Give-a-Heart Committee.
Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. As of 2021, Nassau Habitat completed its 46th home. Their most recent build was their first duplex! Donations and volunteer labor finance construction. The homes are sold at cost to qualified families through an interest free mortgage issued by N.H.F.H.
The Newcomers Club of Amelia Island is a local ladies social club whose purpose is to extend a friendly hand to all newcomers and women whose lifestyles have changed by providing an atmosphere for developing new friendships and offering social and service opportunities in the community. The Newcomers Club is very excited to help in these efforts. Click here for more information about the Newcomers Club: Newcomers Club of Amelia Island – Home (newcomersamelia.org)
