Nassau County, Florida, September 21, 2022 – Please join us in welcoming Derrick Lindsay
as the County’s first Chief Innovation Officer. Derrick brings with him over 30 years of
experience in management of information systems, telecommunications and technical support of business software and hardware.
As the Chief Innovation Officer, Derrick will support the County by providing effective
leadership of information technology resources to ensure stable business applications and the efficient delivery of service to support the Board of County Commissioners. Derrick will lead the Technology Services Department by providing management and strategic direction to the County and its partners to certify that the department’s priorities are aligned with the overall goal of the County. He will also develop multiyear action plans, financial forecasts, policies/programs for procurement of technology software and applications, and oversight of the County’s cybersecurity program.
Derrick has served as the Information Systems Director for the Mississippi Attorney
General’s Office, the Chief Information Officer for the Mississippi Department of Education,
Vice President of Technical Services for a MS Technology Company, Vice President of
Broadband, and a Government Account Executive for a Fiberoptic Company. While serving
in these positions, Derrick offered oversight of system performance and operations while
providing technical support to hundreds of employees.
Derrick obtained his education from the University of Mississippi where in Minored in Business and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He also has knowledge in Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Data Storage, Network Security, Document
Management, system migration, and data workflow.
Assistant County Manager, Marshall Eyerman stated, “Mr. Lindsay’s experience in both the
public and private sector has given him the knowledge needed to lead the Technical Services Department. We are excited to welcome him and look forward to the new innovations and efficiencies he will bring.”
