Ms. Jan Van Delinder, a teacher from Nassau County, has been nominated for the Beaver Chevrolet Local Heroes Contest. This contest recognises the contributions of first responders, military personnel, teachers, law enforcement officers, and firefighters/EMTs. Van Delinder, a Yulee High School teacher, has received multiple awards including the Regional Economic Education Leadership Award and the Florida Excellence in Education Award.
She was also elected as the VFW Florida High School Teacher of the Year in 2022 for her ‘Valentines for Veterans’ campaign, which supports veterans in VA hospitals. The nomination for the Beaver Chevrolet’s contest could lead to her winning a new car.
The public is encouraged to vote online for Van Delinder, who has been an educator for 50 years. She is the only Nassau County resident nominated this year. Van Delinder’s work in education and her community has earned her this nomination.
Votes for the contest can be submitted through the Beaver Chevrolet website until August 31st.Visit here for more details
