The Board of County Commissioners and the American Beach Water and Sewer District are currently seeking applicants to serve on the American Beach Water and Sewer District Advisory Board. The Advisory Board represents the American Beach property owner’s interest by monitoring and evaluating the design and construction of the public water distribution and wastewater collection system within the District boundaries. April is Water Conservation Month
At the Wednesday, March 15th meeting, the Board approved Resolution No. 2023-026 proclaiming the month of April 2023 as Water Conservation Month in Nassau County, Florida. This follows the State’s annual designation of April as Florida’s Water Conservation Month, which is meant to educate citizens about how we can all help save Florida’s precious water resources. 2023 is the 25th Anniversary that the State has declared April as Florida’s Water Conservation Month. 4-H Summer Camps Announced
has released their 2023 Summer Camp schedule and it’s packed full of fun for kids of all ages. They’re offering camps on horses, agriculture, cooking, environmental science and more! Click here for full detail
Sheriff Hosting Nassau Night Out
The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Winn Dixie in Hilliard to host Nassau Night Out on Thursday, March 30th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Come and meet members of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and learn more about their work within the community.
Crime prevention information will be provided and other community groups will be there as well such as: Skittles the Clown, the Instrument Zoo, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Micah’s Place, One More Child, Salvation Army, Women’s Center of Jacksonville, Boys and Girls Club of Nassau, Family Support Services as well as Nassau County Fire-Rescue and MORE!
The Sheriff’s Office has indicated that they will also have scent kits and Autism stickers available on site!

Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Event Scheduled for April
The County’s bi-annual Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Event will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. – noon (or until trucks reach capacity… whichever comes first).
Examples of items that will be accepted include:
– Aerosol cans
– Household cleaners
– Cooking oil (used)
– Oil, lubricants, oil filters
– Insecticides and pesticides
– Computers
– Radios
– Printers
– Power tools
– Televisions, VCRs, DVD players
– Batteries
– Propane Tanks
– Paints and paint thinners
– And much, much more!
