County and School Board Host Joint Meeting |
On Wednesday, February 11, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and the Nassau County School District (NCSD) held their annual meeting to discuss topics of mutual concern. The meeting began with presentation by Dr. Kathy Burns on the State of the School District which included detailed information on demographics, district grades and rankings, strategic goals, budget, and a highlight of programs and partnerships. Other topics of discussion at the Workshop included updates to the Interlocal Agreements between the School Board, County, City of Fernandina, and Towns of Callahan and Hilliard, as well as the School Board’s Impact Fee Report. Because it was a Workshop Session, no action was taken. However both Boards expressed their appreciation for the partnership and working together on behalf of Nassau County’s students. A video of the meeting can be found on the Clerk’s website. ![]() |
