Know your polling location
With just less than 240 days until the next election and less than 470 days before the 2024 General Election, our office is performing voter list maintenance activities. List maintenance is vital as we work to ensure that the voter records are up to date with current residence and mailing addresses. Since January 2023, we have mailed 689 address confirmation requests, 1,764 address change notices, and 2,395 address confirmation final notices. Later this month, we will mail 5,903 additional address confirmation final notices to voters. If you receive an address confirmation final notice, you must return it within 30 days so that we can properly update your voter record.
As we prepare for 2024, we urge all voters to get election ready by knowing your polling location. If you have moved, please update your address with our office or with the Department of Motor Vehicles. This will help ensure that you have an excellent voting experience. While you may vote at any location during early voting, you must vote at your assigned polling location on election day. If you have moved and appear at your prior location on election day, you will be required to update your residence address and travel to the correct polling location before you can cast your ballot. Also, if you plan to vote by mail, we must ensure that you receive the correct ballot for your polling location based on your residence address. Either way that you choose to vote, please make sure that you update your address with our office.
Our office will continue the practice of mailing sample ballots to all active registered voters. While the main attraction is always the candidates and issues on the ballot, the sample ballot will also include your Election-Day polling location. Your voter information card also provides this information. Please note that your voter information card cannot be used as identification for the purpose of voting. Florida Statute 101.043 prescribes that the voter must present one of the following current and valid picture identifications:
- Florida driver license
- Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
- United States passport
- Debit or credit card
- Military identification
- Student identification
- Retirement center identification
- Neighborhood association identification
- Public assistance identification
- Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veteran Affairs
- A license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to FS 790.06
- Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.
If the picture identification does not contain your signature, an additional identification that provides your signature shall be required.
We currently have 13,177 vote-by-mail ballot requests for the 2024 election season. With the passage of SB 90 in 2021, all vote-by-mail requests expired after the 2022 General Election. If you did not “check the box” when you returned your 2022 mail ballot, you can request a mail ballot on our website at https://www.votenassaufl.gov/check-my-voter-status.
You can also update your mailing or residence address at https://www.votenassaufl.gov/update-my-voter-information.
Please call our office at 904-491-7500 if we can assist you in preparing for the 2024 elections.
