My piece at Real Clear Investigations (RCI) on the FBI secretly updating its crime data, changing a drop in crime to an increase, is continuing to get a lot of news coverage. Joe Rogan and Donald Trump discussed it in their appearance on Rogan’s podcast. At last check on Friday, that interview had been seen by 43 million on YouTube and tens of millions more on other platforms.
Fox News’ The Five and @Night with Trace Gallagher had segments discussing the RCI piece. Sixty news articles included Fox News (here, here, and here), the Washington Times, the Wall Street Journal, and The Daily Caller. Glenn Beck discussed it on his national radio show.
The U.S. House Oversight Committee also began investigating the FBI’s actions. Chair Congressman James Comer (R-KY) sent a letter to the FBI citing our work and demanding answers from the FBI.
I discussed the findings on radio shows, including Lars Larson’s national radio show, D.C.’s WMAL, and Chicago’s WIND-AM. Television shows included Blaze TV’s Stu Does America, Just the News on Real America’s Voice, The Liz Wheeler Show, One America News’ Tipping Point, and NewsMax.
Given the massive misinformation on crime by Democrats and the media, I hope that I have been able to make some difference in the debate.
On the amusing side, Michael Bloomberg’s The Trace worries that Trump might win the election and I might get a position in his administration. They appear particularly concerned that I might head up the Office of Gun Violence Prevention created by Biden and run by Kamala Harris. Possibly, Bloomberg’s employees know something that I don’t know, but I just think that it is their worst fear. Of course, the problem with me getting such a high-profile position is that gun control advocates would go completely nuts, and an administration would have to be willing to spend a lot of political capital on putting up with the national media backlash.
Other appearances discussed our work on crime by illegal immigrants. I talked about that on radio shows such as the Michigan Talk Network and St. Louis’ giant KFTK-FM. I also discussed school shootings and the importance of arming teachers on national radio shows: The Larry Elder Show and the Rich Valdes America at Night Show.
We have updated our list of defensive gun uses by people legally carrying concealed handguns for July 2024.
We have continued compiling examples of media bias on guns. Apple TV’s Bad Monkey had one segment where a concealed carry permit holder has his handgun taken from him by a criminal and it is used against a police officer. But that show also had a rare defensive gun use that turned out well.
If you haven’t already seen it, please watch our new video with John Stossel, which covers our new research showing errors in the FBI’s active shooting reports.
We need your support to continue doing the work that we do. We are in the middle of our end of the year fundraising drive, and your help is greatly appreciated. I don’t think that there is any organization with as small of a budget that regularly produces as much as we do. Thank you very much.
We need help getting this message out. If you have friends you think might find our emails interesting, please encourage them to sign up by sending them the link here. Thank you very much..
