Hello to We the People – Hope everyone did OK during and after the hurricane. Since Amelia Island was under evacuation orders and the Plantation (where we live) was asked to stay away even longer, until they cleared out the downed trees and branches blocking the roads, we did not return until last night. Thankfully all was well, other than four downed trees that had been leaning anyway…so God took care of them. Thankfully downed them without damaging other things. Whew…we got lucky!
Hopefully you all have seen the notice that our We the People meeting scheduled for tomorrow night, October 3, from 5 to 7 PM will be held in a different venue (due to standing water in the Walkers Landing parking lot). The meeting will now be held at Shuckers Oyster Bar, just off island, instead….same time. No cover charge. Just order whatever you might want to eat or drink off the restaurant menu. Hope to see you there…Should be a nice cool evening.

Having evacuated to west TN where life was beautiful, Chris and I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have returned to just a messy yard and a couple downed trees. Hope everyone on this list faired as well as we did. Our hearts and prayers go out to the millions of people in Florida who were not nearly as fortunate as we were.
