The first, annual Christian Heritage of America Parade will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, on Centre Street, Amelia Island at 10:00 am. A faith and music festival in Central Park will follow the parade from 11:00 am to 1:00pm.
The parade will honor America on Independence Day weekend, and her great Christian heritage. There will be floats, and cars and trucks, and marchers from many local Christian churches, schools and businesses. The parade will start at Central Park, and follow the traditional parade route down Ash Street to Second Street, and then back up Centre Street to the park.
More than 70 people/organizations have registered to be in the parade, and there will be 10 floats, 40 cars and trucks, and over 100 marchers. The Lighthouse Christian Radio station, 89.3 FM will be a participant in the parade with Christian music.
In the park, there will be music performed by the Living Waters Praise band, and singers from First Baptist Church, as well as speeches about the Christian heritage of America. There will also be food trucks, and games, face painting, cornhole and snow cones for the kids.
In honor of the parade, Mayor Bradley Bean will issue a Proclamation designating June 29th as Christian Heritage of America day in Fernandina Beach.
