Fernandina Beach Main Street (FBMS) is pleased to announce the transition of Executive Director Lisa Finkelstein to her new role as the Downtown District Manager for the City of Fernandina Beach (COFB). As the organization moves forward, it is actively seeking a new Executive Director to continue its mission of promoting preservation-based economic
vitality in the historic downtown area.

In its nearly ten-year history, Fernandina Beach Main Street has achieved its strongest position yet in terms of community engagement, financial resources, and volunteer involvement. The Board and Councils remain committed to creating a vibrant, business-friendly destination while preserving the historical essence of downtown Fernandina Beach.

The newly established Downtown District department within the COFB reflects a significant step in strengthening the partnership between the city and FBMS. Lisa Finkelstein’s familiarity with the capabilities of the FBMS program will enable a more productive definition of roles between the two entities.

The presence of the former Executive Director of FBMS in the role of Downtown District Manager will:

  • Shape how the new Downtown District department and FBMS work together
  • Provide closer oversight and more control in the downtown area, specifically in areas involving the physical environment
  • Allow for direct input into the COFB 5-year Capital Projects Plan
  • Enable ongoing support of FBMS and the new FBMS Executive Director

Lisa Finkelstein’s transition signifies a continued dedication to the revitalization and growth of Fernandina Beach’s downtown. Her experience and vision will be invaluable in ensuring seamless cooperation between COFB and FBMS, ultimately benefiting the entire community.

Fernandina Beach Main Street extends its heartfelt gratitude to Lisa for her leadership and contributions over the years and looks forward to the exciting opportunities ahead.
