Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

05-24-24

As Memorial Day Weekend quickly approaches, let us remember the true meaning behind this important holiday. It is a time to honor the valor and sacrifices of the brave men and women who enlisted in our armed forces and fought to preserve our American liberties, values, and way of life.

America is the world’s superpower, but our freedom comes at a cost that has included the lives of the brightest and boldest of our nation. The men and women who have given their lives in service to this nation are—irrevocably—heroes. When their country called, they answered. No matter how they found their way to service, each took it upon him or herself to serve faithfully and to their fullest, while giving their last measure of devotion to our country.

On Memorial Day, let us honor the heroes we have lost and pray for the loved ones left behind in service to our nation. And let us promise to protect, preserve, and treasure this land they proudly defended.

BEAN EARNS AWARD FOR CONSERVATIVE VOTING RECORD

I was honored to receive a 95% rating from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and the Award for Conservative Excellence based on my legislative record. I promised you I would fight the Far Left every day with bold, conservative action, and I have kept my word. Learn more HERE

PREVENTING NONCITIZENS FROM VOTING

It is imperative to our democracy that all elections remain transparent and apart from outside influence. Yet the D.C. City Council is putting the integrity of our election system at risk by allowing illegal immigrants, Chinese and Russian agents, and foreign exchange students the ability to vote in local elections.

This alarming and ridiculous measure not only disenfranchises legal voters but opens our elections up to a host of international security issues. On Thursday, House Republicans took action to protect every legal vote and every legal voter. We passed H.R. 192 , which prohibits noncitizens from voting in our nation’s capital. Read more HERE

PROTECTING SMALL BUSINESSES FROM BIDEN’S REGULATORY AGENDA

Image
CLICK HERE TO WATCHThe Biden Administration has hurled a staggering number of burdensome rules on Main Street. Like building blocks, they have continued to stack new regulations on top of small businesses to the tune of $1.6 trillion. On Wednesday, the Small Business Committee held a hearing to address the harm that President Biden’s administration has caused. The government should be in the business of working for the people, not hurting them. As a member of the Small Business Committee, I’ll continue to protect  our nation’s job creators, not harm them.

BEAN TORCHES UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS ON ANTI-ISRAEL TERROR ENCAMPMENTS

Targeted. Harassed. Violently ambushed. It’s shocking that in 2024, students are unable to walk between classes to their dorms or to the dining hall. But it’s the reality for Jewish students on campus.   During a House Education and Workforce Committee hearing on Thursday, I questioned University Presidents from UCLA, Northwestern, and Rutgers about their lack of decisive action to preserve campus safety, to protect Jewish students, and to remove the antisemitic terror encampments

What is happening on these campuses is completely unacceptable. Our committee will continue to stand against all institutions of higher learning that are funding terrorism, radicalization, and indoctrination.

PROTECTING AMERICANS’ RIGHT TO FINANCIAL PRIVACY

The idea of a central bank digital currency isn’t just alarming, it’s down-right un-American. This week, House Republicans took necessary action to prevent unelected Washington bureaucrats at the Fed from ever issuing one by passing H.R. 5403, CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act

This bill is simple: It halts the efforts of the Biden regime from issuing a financial surveillance tool and upholds American values of privacy, individual sovereignty, and free market competitiveness. Learn more HERE

TALKING WITH NORTHEAST FLORIDIANS

ImageOn Wednesday night, I held a town hall, which exceeded all expectations as more than 3,800 folks from across Clay, Duval, and Nassau Counties dialed in. During the event, we addressed a wide range of issues affecting our community including Biden’s student loan bailout, the border invasion, election integrity, anti-Israel encampments, and so much more.

As your voice in our nation’s capital, I remain committed to fostering meaningful conversations and keeping the lines of communication open for it is through these efforts that our democracy thrives.
