Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

05-17-24

This week marked the 61st anniversary of President John F. Kennedy authorizing the President of the United States to declare the week of May 13-19th as National Police Week.

During this historic week, we recognize that it takes strength and courage to wear a badge. It takes commitment to respond to an emergency, to run towards gun fire rather than away. But for law enforcement—that’s just part of the job.

While Crazy Town continues to demonize and verbally attack law enforcement, House Republicans know they are not the enemy—they are heroes.

That’s why this week, we passed:H.R. 7343Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops ActH.R. 7530DC CRIMES Act of 2024H.R. 354Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) Reform ActH.R. 7581Improving Law Enforcement Officer Safety & Wellness Through Data ActH.R. 8146, Police Our Border Act In addition, we passed H. Res. 1213 , a resolution condemning calls to defund the police, which have increased violence towards law enforcement officers, and H. Res. 1210 , a resolution condemning the Biden Border crisis and the tremendous burdens law enforcement officers face as a result.

We owe a debt to all our law enforcement officers. These patriots bravely start their shifts to protect our communities without ever knowing if they’ll get back home safely. We all share in the rewards of their service, but it’s our officers that bear the burdens.

That’s why, during National Police Week, I want to say two words that our incredibly brave patriots don’t hear enough: Thank you.

BIDEN SECRETARY PLEADS FIFTH ON HHS FRAUDImageCLICK HERE FOR AN INSTANT REPLAY!

On Wednesday, during a House Education and Workforce Committee hearing, I asked Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Xavier Becerra about the total number of Medicare and Medicaid fraud that has taken place under his watch. Unsurprisingly, he couldn’t give an answer. Yet, the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association reports that $100 billion has been stolen from taxpayers.

In other words, the money that American taxpayers are defrauded of each year is more than some developed countries spend in total to achieve coverage for every citizen. The inefficiency at HHS is beyond comprehension. I know the American people want their money back, and I’ll continue to fight for every taxpayer dollar spent on HHS’s radical agenda.

PREVENTING BIDEN FROM WITHHOLDING AID TO ISRAEL

By withholding arms shipments, President Biden is betraying our ally, Israel, during her darkest hour while simultaneously emboldening Iran-backed Hamas.

On Thursday, House Republicans took action against his foreign policy negligence and passed the Israel Security Assistance Support Act. This bill guarantees that our ally has the weapons to defend herself, bring the hostages home, defeat bloodthirsty Hamas, and face down the Iran regime and its terror proxies. Learn more HERE .

PASSED: LANDMARK FAA REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2024

When you fly, you expect to get where you’re going on time, safely, and at a reasonable price. But with mass cancellations and delays, folks are becoming frustrated.

House Republicans are working towards a solution with this week’s passage of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. This legislation is a significant step forward in improving aviation safety, fortifying our defenses in the skies, bolstering our aviation workforce, and making much-needed improvements to consumer protections and accessibility. HOLDING THE ATF ACCOUNTABLE FOR “NAME AND SHAME” CAMPAIGN

Following the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) releasing a list of federally licensed firearms dealers (FFLs) to gun control groups and the media suggesting they are engaged in illegal sales, I joined Representative Jeff Duncan to exert congressional oversight on the Biden administration’s rogue ATF.

It’s clear the ATF has been weaponized by the Biden Administration against law-abiding gun owners and sellers. As your Congressman, I will continue to protect your 2A rights from this administration’s gun-grabbing agenda. Read more HERE .

BEAN ON OAN: “A COUNTRY WITHOUT BORDERS IS NOT A COUNTRY”ImageCLICK HERE TO WATCH

Recently, I joined Tipping Point with Kara McKinney on OAN to discuss how President Biden is exploiting the border invasion after denying it was even happening.

People in America are fed up with the open border. Now is the time to finish building the wall and protect the American people—and that’s what H.R. 2 will do.
UPCOMING: MAY TELEPHONE TOWN HALLImageAre you ready for our next Telephone Town Hall? From Washington’s reckless spending to Americans’ dwindling savings and the House GOP’s efforts to push the Biden administration to stop the border invasion—we’ve got a lot to discuss.

Join me on Wednesday, May 22nd at 5:30pm. If you’ve never signed up to join our TTH call-list, be sure to register at: https://bean.house.gov/contact/tth-signup .

CASWORK CORNERA constituent reached out about an issue getting enrolled in the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA), leaving her without coverage. After contacting our office, a dedicated team member was able to help get her CHAMPVA application to the appropriate place so it could be processed. As a result of contacting our district office, she ultimately received health care coverage.

If need help with a federal agency, my office is here to advocate on your behalf and cut through the red-tape. Contact us today.
