Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

09-03-24

The Biden-Harris administration is determined to repeal President Trump’s job-creating tax cuts, and Northeast Florida business owners can’t afford the massive tax hike that will result. This week, I hosted a roundtable discussion with members of Clay County’s local business community to explore the impact of these expiring tax cuts, as well as solutions to protect Main Street from the
’s policies that are driving up costs.  Image During the roundtable, Clay County business leaders confirmed how successful the Trump tax cuts have been and how critical Section 199A is to their daily operations. I heard directly from business owners how hard it is to find workers, to be competitive, to access products amid supply chain issues, and the need for immediate relief. Image
As we fight to preserve the Trump tax cuts, I’m taking their stories back to D.C. and will continue to advocate for policies that allow Main Street to grow their businesses, expand their workforce, and invest in the economy.

IT’S OFFICIAL: POST OFFICE RENAMED IN HONOR OF PAMELA JANE ROCKImage
Earlier this week, I was honored to rename the Melrose Post Office in honor of Pamela “Pam” Jane Rock who tragically died after sustaining injuries while delivering mail in northeast Florida.

Pam had a servant’s heart, and it was obvious in the way she lived her life. While her time on this earth was tragically cut short, she served the U.S. Post Service with passion and integrity, and it was important to officially memorialize her commitment to Floridians. Read more HERE .

BEAN INTRODUCED BILL TO ROOT OUT MEDICARE FRAUDImage
Rising fraud and criminal activity threatens to undermine the Medicare system for Northeast Floridians. We have an obligation to ensure that taxpayer dollars keep our most vulnerable populations healthy, not lining the pockets of fraudsters.

That’s why, I introduced the Prompt Reporting and Oversight for Medicare Providing Transparency (PROMPT) Act, to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse in the Medicare System. By increasing reporting to more quickly detect fraud, we can make significant strides toward addressing this growing problem and protecting Americans. Learn more HERE

REMEMBERING OUR AMERICAN PATRIOTSImage
Monday, August 26th, marked three years since America lost 13 brave patriots as a result of the Biden-Harris Administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal.  America deserves real leaders who will honor their sacrifice, stand with their families, and take responsibility when it matters most. Instead, the current administration has chosen to accept no accountability and VP Kamala Harris has gone so far as to say she as “no regrets” over the awful operational failure at Abbey Gate.

House Republicans will never forget our patriots’ sacrifice and service to our nation. It’s why we are continuing to seek answers for how this tragedy was ever allowed to happen.

BEAN REACTS TO COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY’S FAILURE TO HOLD PRO-HAMAS STUDENTS ACCOUNTABLEImage
Columbia University has made it clear that antisemitic, pro-terrorist students can break the rules and get off scot-free. The university’s failure to hold these students accountable for spewing hatred against the Jewish community and brutalizing Jewish students is unacceptable.

Columbia leadership’s blatant inaction has effectively given a pass to those who should be expelled, arrested, and prosecuted. Read more exclusively in Fox News HERE

CASEWORK CORNER

We had a veteran reach out in need of help getting a waiver request processed with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). A dedicated team member in our Clay County office was able to reach out on his behalf, and as a result, the veteran successfully made their case for relief.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: VA IMPROVES ACCESS TO CLAIMS INFORMATION

The VA recently enhanced the Claim Status Tool to improve your digital, self-service experience. The tool now shows a breakdown of the eight-step disability claims process, making it easier to understand the status of your claim.

As a result of this change, you will no longer have to contact a call center or regional office for claims information. The claim status tool allows you to access important claim information when you need it. This tool is another step forward in VBA’s ongoing mission to support Veterans and their families. To learn more about using the claim status tool, please visit the Claims Status page .
