Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean
10-12-24
As many of you already know, Hurricane Milton hit our state hard, leaving behind a path of destruction and many in desperate need of assistance. While I am incredibly grateful a majority of this hurricane missed Northeast Florida, my thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all of those who became victims of this storm. Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida National Guard, and local law enforcement are working diligently to clear roads so utility crews can restore power as it’s safe to do so. We are truly blessed to have numerous resources to deploy in the aftermath of this storm. As we survey the damage and begin the cleanup process, my office is standing by ready to assist. Please give us a call in Clay County (904) 830-3933, in Duval County (904) 319-9433, and in Nassau County (904) 557-9550. SUPPORTING FLORIDA’S REQUEST FOR A MAJOR DISASTER DECLARATION On Friday, I was proud to join Congressman Vern Buchanan and the entire Florida Delegation in urging President Biden to approve Governor DeSantis’ request for a Major Disaster Declaration following the devastation of Hurricane Milton. We must deliver the critical federal support necessary for families, businesses, and our communities to rebuild and recover. Learn more HERE . BEAN ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF OCTOBER 7 HAMAS TERRORIST ATTACK One year ago, Hamas barbarically murdered more than 1,200 men, women, and children, and took 251 hostages. For over 365 days, families and communities have continued to wait for the safe return of their loved ones. It’s time for their immediate release. The 97 remaining hostages—including 4 Americans—must be reunited with their families. As we mark the anniversary of this tragedy, my message for my Jewish brothers and sisters right here in America and around the world is this: we see your heartbreak, we see your pain, and you are not alone. HURRICANE RECOVERY EFFORTS ON NEWSMAX CLICK HERE TO WATCH This week, I joined Newsline with Bianca de la Garza on Newsmax to talk about recovery efforts for Hurricane Milton and what Florida is doing to jumpstart the process in the coming days, weeks, and months. CASEWORK CORNER So far in 2024, our district staff have returned over $2.3 MILLION to Northeast Floridians through casework and resolved hundreds of cases. Serving you is what we do, and taking care of constituents in Northeast Florida is my top priority. Even more, I’m fighting to rein in Washington’s reckless spending and working hard to return money back to taxpayers. Need help with a federal agency like the IRS? Reach out to one of my offices today . THE NAVY’S 249TH BIRTHDAYSunday, October 13th is the United States Navy’s 249th birthday!
