Press Release

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has met little resistance when acting against our interests. For the past three and half years, they’ve refused to stand up and hold the communist regime accountable, making it clear they have no intention of ending their policy of appeasement. Meanwhile, House Republicans are fighting to counter China’s aggression, deter future actions, and defend our American values and national security. Just this week we passed: Protecting America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act to protect our intellectual property and academic institutions from malign Chinese influence. Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act to stop the CCP from buying our farmland. DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act to restrict CCP funded Confucius Institutes on college campuses. End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act of 2024 to block the flow of American taxpayer dollars to Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers. Our message to Communist China is simple: We will not back down. PASSED OUT OF COMMITTEE: THE LABOR ACT CLICK HERE TO WATCH On Tuesday, my bill—the Let American Businesses Be On Record (LABOR) Act— to combat the out-of-control bureaucracy, which regulates thousands of small business owners out of business every year, passed the Committee on House Small Business. On top of record-breaking inflation and workforce shortages, the Biden-Harris Administration has piled over $1.6 trillion in burdensome regulations onto the backs of America’s job creators. My bill will ensure Main Street has an opportunity to weigh in on new regulations before they are implemented. Learn more HERE . PROTECTING PATIENTS FROM SURPRISE TELEHEALTH FACILITY CHARGES CLICK HERE TO WATCH Did you know facility fees are allowed to be tacked onto telehealth visits? There is simply no justification for providers to charge a walk-in-the-door fee for a telehealth service that the patient is receiving having never stepped foot in a facility. That’s why I introduced the Transparent Telehealth Bills Act. My bill will help lower healthcare costs for patients by ensuring no extra fees are tacked onto their telehealth bills. Additionally, on Wednesday my bill passed the House Committee on Education and the Workforce by a vote of 34 to 0. Read more HERE . WE WILL NEVER FORGET 23 years ago, in a field only 193 miles from the United States Capitol, 40 courageous men and women were victorious over evil and gave their lives in defense of our nation. This week, we pay tribute to their sacrifice, and we deeply mourn the nearly 3,000 precious souls who were cruelly taken from us on September 11, 2001. While we cannot fill the void of loss or erase the terrible sorrow of that day, as a nation, we can continue to do our duty: to remember. So, I join you this week in remembering the fallen and honoring those heroes who stared terrorism in the face and refused to bend. Their sacrifices have preserved freedom and security for generations to come. SEPTEMBER IS PASSPORT MONTH Before you book your trip, it’s important to always check your passport’s expiration date. If your passport is going to expire within the next year, now is a great time to renew while processing times are down, and the summer travel rush is over. The State Department recently announced its plan to establish six new passport agencies, including one in Orlando, Florida, making it even more convenient to renew your passport. This new agency will provide services to travelers with urgent travel needs (travel within 14-days or less). Follow @travelgov on social media and visit travel.state.gov/passport for the latest passport information. Sincerely, Congressman Aaron Bean Proudly Serving Florida’s Fourth Congressional District |
