Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean
3/8/25
On Tuesday night, Northeast Floridians and the entire nation tuned in to watch President Trump’s record-breaking joint address to Congress. The great men and women of this nation cried out for change, and President Trump unveiled his bold vision to renew the American Dream. ![]() From slashing wasteful spending and securing our border to unleashing energy dominance and starting the engine on our economy, the President delivered a powerful address laser focused on America First priorities. Even more, he emphasized the need for massive tax cuts and rolling back red tape that has burdened hardworking Americans and stifled innovation. Since taking office, President Trump has moved with urgency and historic speed to fix the atrocious record of the Biden-Harris administration. It can be summed up as promises made, promises kept. I have no doubt that Congress will maintain the momentum as we work with President Trump to truly make America Great Again. REVERSING BIDEN’S REGULATORY LEGACY In its final months, the Biden Administration imposed over 1,400 unnecessary and harmful rules on American businesses, workers, and families. This week, the House took action and passed: H.J. Res. 42, a resolution to overturn a Biden-era regulation that requires everyday home appliances to meet energy conservation standards. H.J. Res 61, to rescind a last-minute, onerous rule by the Biden-Harris administration that imposed harmful regulations on American tire manufacturers. S.J. Res. 11 , a joint resolution of disapproval to reverse a Biden-Harris rule that targeted offshore oil and gas production. Together, we are working to undo the Biden-Harris regulatory state, reduce costs for families and keep America competitive in the global market. MAKING AMERICA EFFICIENT AGAIN ![]() Our national debt has surpassed a staggering $36 trillion! Make no mistake: our country is in financial trouble unless we make spending changes. Wednesday night, Elon Musk and Steve Davis came to Capitol Hill to discuss the work of the U.S. DOGE Service. It was a productive meeting focused on the DOGE’s cost-cutting mission and goals. As founder and co-chair of the Congressional DOGE Caucus, I am eager to continue working together to improve government efficiency and get America back on track. MAKING DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME PERMANENT Are you ready to hit the snooze button? Daylight Savings Time will take place on Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 am, which means more hours of sunshine—and less ZZ’s. Nobody likes to lose an hour of sleep. That’s why I cosponsored the Sunshine Protection Act to end this unnecessary tradition of twice-a-year clock changes that takes place every November and March. Fortunately, in the Sunshine State, lawmakers already voted to make daylight savings time permanent. Now it’s time for Congress to do the same and pass legislation to move Florida and the rest of the nation to year-round daylight savings time. GRAND OPENING: DAY DROP IN CENTER On Friday, I was honored to celebrate the opening of the Day Drop In Center as part of the Nassau County Coalition for the Homeless in Fernandina Beach. With the goal of creating a safe haven where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, the team at the Coalition for the Homeless is supporting the health and well-being of Northeast Floridians.
