Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean
2/9/25
This week, I joined my Ways and Means colleagues for a Work and Welfare Subcommittee hearing to sound the alarm on fraud in the unemployment insurance program. We know that fraudsters have stolen between $100 billion and $135 billion in pandemic-era unemployment benefits. ![]() With the Statute of Limitations to prosecute these crimes expiring in March, we are working overtime to hold these fraudsters accountable. PROTECTING AMERICAN CHILDREN FROM FOREIGN ADVERSARIES To address the aggressive and systematic threats from foreign adversaries that seek to infiltrate our K-12 schools, I reintroduced the Transparency in Reporting of Adversarial Contributions to Education (TRACE) Act. I believe American schools are for education, not espionage. That’s why it’s so important that we solidify the rights of parents to know how foreign influence may be impacting their child’s classroom and take concrete steps to deter the ability of foreign nations to reach America’s youth. Read more exclusively in Fox News HERE . PROTECTING U.S. ENERGY PRODUCTION FROM EXECUTIVE BANS ![]()  Energy security is national security. On Friday, we passed H.R. 26, the Protecting American Energy Production Act, to block future presidents from banning oil drilling without congressional approval.  America has the resources, the expertise, and the demand to be an energy independent nation again. This bill will help to get us back on track.  HOUSE PASSES BILL TO HALT FLOW OF FENTANYL ![]() Just two milligrams of fentanyl, the minuscule amount that fits on the tip of a pencil, is considered deadly. With more than 70,000 drug-related deaths each year, we know that American lives are on the line.  On Thursday, we passed the HALT Fentanyl Act, which will give law enforcement tools to keep us safe and combat the deadly fentanyl crisis infiltrating communities across the nation.  TALKING TO NORTHEAST FLORIDA STUDENTS ![]() It was great to meet hardworking students and teachers from Lakeside Junior High School during their trip to our nation’s capital. I shared with them my journey to the House of Representatives, as well as insight into how our government works.  Planning to visit Washington, D.C.? Fourth District residents can contact my office to request tours or to receive passes to some of the most popular attractions in our nation’s capital, including the U.S. Capitol. Give us a call today!  SENATE CONFIRMATION PROCESS IS IN HIGH GEAR ![]() On Thursday, I joined Real America with Dan Ball on One America News Network to discuss the latest on President Trump’s cabinet nominees and how Attorney General Pam Bondi is wasting no time to Make America Safe Again. CUE THE CIRCUS! ![]() Under the big top, the Swamp is fighting back because DOGE is taking a hard look at the Department of Education. On Friday, I joined The Benny Show to explain how DOGE is working to root out waste, fraud, and abuse at federal agencies. YOU’RE INVITED: JOIN WEDNESDAY’S LIVE TOWN HALL ![]() Are you ready for our next Telephone Town Hall?
