By Congressman Aaron Bean
11/23/24
America has spoken, and our country has told us clearly, to go in a new direction. It’s morning in America. As the sun rises, it brings hope, optimism, and opportunity. But it also brings the realization that we are in a mess.
President Trump appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Their goal is to dismantle the out-of-control bureaucracy, cut wasteful programs, and restructure federal agencies.

But tackling Crazy Town will be no easy task—they will need partners. That’s why I have created the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus. HOLDING FEMA ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNTABLE This week, I joined my Transportation and Infrastructure Committee colleagues in demanding answers from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell about her agency’s troubling responses to recent disasters and crises. During the hearing, we focused on reports that FEMA workers avoided some homes in Florida and other states that displayed campaign signs for President-elect Trump. I played a little game of True or False with Administrator Criswell to cut through the disinformation. Watch my line of questioning HERE ! DELIVERING ON PROMISE TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES As the son of a WWII Veteran, I was proud to help pass H.R. 8371, the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare & Benefits Improvement Act. PASSED: BILL ENDING TAX-EXEMPT SUPPORT FOR TERRORISM & TAX PENALTIES FOR AMERICAN HOSTAGESCLICK HERE TO WATCH FLOOR REMARKS This week, I was proud to take a stand for Americans unjustly detained abroad and against tax-exempt organization funding terror. H.R. 9495, the Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on America Hostages Act , closes loopholes that harm our citizens and embolden our enemies. Specifically, this bill strips nonprofits of their tax-exempt status if they support terrorist organizations and provides fair tax treatment to American hostages and those wrongfully detained abroad. Its passage is a victory for freedom and accountability. CONGRESSMAN BEAN ON ‘THE STORY’CLICK HERE TO WATCH Since 2003 there has been $2.7 TRILLION in waste, fraud, and abuse. I joined The Story with Martha MacCallum on Fox News to discuss how the DOGE Caucus will aid Elon and Vivek to reduce the size of government and stop the abuse of taxpayer dollars.
