Press Release
By Citizens Defending Freedom, 1-10-25
Dear Nassau CDF Supporters,
As we reflect on all that we have accomplished together in Nassau County, I want to personally thank you for your dedication to protecting liberty and preserving our values. Your support has made a lasting impact in our community, and I am so proud of what we have achieved.
In just this last year, we removed obscene school library books and then dealt with those same books being put back on the shelves. Citizens and parents stood up to the inappropriate and potentially unlawful decisions and objected to every single one of those books again to have them removed. The community spoke!
In the last year and a half, we fought to gain access to the Ripple Effects SEL mental health curriculum used by Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare in our schools. Our legal battle ended with the judge awarding us access to the curriculum and attorney’s fees! Additionally, Starting Point cancelled their contract fully removing it from Nassau County School District. This is a huge win for our children, parents, and citizens.
Our efforts across the state of Florida stopped the passage of Amendment 4 which would have allowed for abortion up until birth. In 2023, there were 84,052 abortions in the state of Florida. There is still much work to do. We cannot rest when it comes to protecting the unborn children. Fortunately, we have strong local and state officials representing us. We need to continue to ensure that candidates with solid qualifications and Christian values are elected to serve.
The taxpayers in Fernandina Beach and Nassau County are better off because both city and county have held taxes to Rollback Rate or Adjusted Rollback Rate for the last several years. Electing strong leaders and staying in touch is important!
As part of Citizens Defending Freedom’s exciting new direction, the organization is transitioning from a county-based model to a state-based model. This change will allow us to expand into more states more rapidly, while equipping even more citizens in every county of the states we serve. You will receive an email soon from the CDF National team with all the details about this new direction.
While the county model is ending, this is not goodbye. You will continue to receive important updates and communications from CDF’s state and national teams. We remain committed to supporting you as you continue to fight for freedom in our local community, and I encourage you to stay connected with us as we take this next step together. I will be moving from a full-time position to a volunteer position at CDF. Going forward, you can reach me at the same phone number and via email at [email protected]. Our State Education Director, Kathleen Murray, is right next door in Duval County.
Thank you for your passion, perseverance, and partnership. Many thanks to the numerous prayer intercessors around the county who have been praying for our children, our elected officials, protection from evil, protection for those who are speaking out, and for everyone to be renewed in their faith in the one true God who created everything who awaits all of us to welcome the power of Holy Spirit to direct our lives. Those prayers have been instrumental to all the successes we have enjoyed in our community and our country.
It is an honor to serve alongside you, and I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish together through this expanded vision.
With gratitude,
Jack Knocke
