CCDF (County Citizens Defending Freedom) USA- Duval County Chapter sponsored a Constitution Day celebration today at the Jacksonville Naval Museum aboard the destroyer USS Orleck (photo, above), a 77 year-old navy vessel that saw action in Korea & Viet Nam. The vessel was transferred to the Turkish Navy, before eventually returning stateside and being placed in several “foster homes” before making it to Jax.

Jack Knocke, Executive Director of the embryonic CCDF USA Nassau County chapter told us about it and provided the photographs for this article.
Jax Councilman Al Ferraro helped bring the USS Orleck to Jacksonville and said a few words at the event. Then Students from Classical Academy Charter School spoke on the Bill of Rights. Knocke later opined that our Nassau County School system should be based on the classical curricula of this school. He also advocated making Constitution day a national holiday.
“We the People in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice and ensure domestic tranquility…”
