in a recent Jacksonville speech, Biden’s lapdog VP Kamala Harris inexpertly tread the Democrat line that Florida’s new black history curriculum (part of the Florida’s State Academic Standards Social Studies ) – De Santis’ curriculum, she incorrectly whined- is “extremist… replaces history with lies” and even extolls the benefits of slavery! Never mind that a team of black scholars was involved in its creation. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. The gaffe-prone and seemingly stupid “Vice President” was easy pickings for a local blogger/podcaster, who also recently exposed possible illegal activity by “gender counselors” in our own Nassau County. She’s getting to be a regular James O’Keefe.
I read through the FL standards which contain a lot more on black history than we ever covered in K-12 education in my native NY. Please see it for yourself and make up your own mind. What it DOESN”T contain, which has the Woke Left in a snit, is the infamous CRT (Critical Race Theory), right out of Hegelian Dialectics, tweaked by the US “Frankfurt School”, blaming all whites for slavery, racism, white supremacy, even if they never had slaves and aren’t racist. The CRT narrative is full of lies, distortions, mixed with truths, designed to divide, enrage, not really to educate impartially and accurately.
Quisha King of local podcast note (Quisha King Show) devastated Harris’ ill-thought out and disingenuous trope. She immediately and expertly summarized why Kamala was wrong, then read the relevant actual words of none other than the brilliant and famous former slave Booker T. Washington Info, More, More) to reinforce her points.
Harris took a sentence out of context, buried in the standards that freed slaves could have benefitted later from some marketable skills they learned beforehand. A reasonable conclusion, shared by none other than Booker T. Washington, who King gleefully quoted in her video. The standards far from soft peddle the evils of slavery. Of course there is a big leap from the curriculum to actual lesson plans and educational materials selected, then presented in class or online. We haven’t yet seen how that unfolds, but we’ll be watching.
Kamala’s comments:
I’m no education expert, but the new standards seem to be a big improvement over the past and certainly infinitely better than the politically correct CRT crap that some districts and even entire states like California are ramming down students’ and parents’ throats.
For your viewing pleasure, we have included Ms. King’s (no relation to Martin Luther King) video response to the gaffster’s words in the above video- enjoy:

Some other responses objecting to the speech:
Fernandina Beach native Dr. William B. Allen, one of the scholars involved in bringing us the new Black History Standards speaks out against the unwarranted criticism:
Who is Dr. William B. Allen? He’s taking on Kamala Harris over Florida Black history curriculum
To see both sides’ takes on this, have a look at this.
Speaking of Critical Race Theory in schools, here is Ms. King’s take on that:
