Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean

Hi Citizens Journal Florida, As we prepare for Memorial Day, let us pause to remember the valor and sacrifices of the brave men and women who enlisted in our armed forces and fought to preserve our American liberties, values, and way of life. The men and women who have given their lives in service to this nation are—irrevocably—heroes. When their country called, they answered. No matter how they found their way to service, each took it upon him or herself to serve faithfully and to their fullest, while giving their last measure of devotion to our country. God bless our men and women in uniform. We salute you; we thank you. JUST IN: BEAN INTRODUCES NATIONAL POW/MIA MEMORIAL & MUSEUM ACT |
America’s POW-MIAs should never be forgotten. These patriots deserve a special place of honor because of their selfless dedication, unmatched valor, and unsurpassed devotion to our nation’s values. This week, I was proud to introduce the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum Act. This bipartisan legislation will designate the POW/MIA Memorial and Museum at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL as the national landmark to honor all former prisoners of war and those still missing in action. BEAN HIGHLIGHTS FERNANDINA BEACH VET IN HOUSE SMALL BUSINESS COMMITTEE |
On Wednesday, I was honored to highlight Fernandina Beach veteran and small business owner, Ms. Liberty Weaver, at the House Small Business Committee hearing titled, “Saluting Service: Supporting Veteran Owned Small Businesses.” Our brave veterans represent the best of America and deserve every opportunity to excel in the nation they courageously defended. We must support our patriotic men and women as they transition from military service to the business sector and foster an environment in which veterans can start, grow, and expand their businesses. |
HOUSE PASSES BILL TO HALT FLOW OF FENTANYL |
Just two milligrams of fentanyl, the minuscule amount that fits on the top of a pencil, is considered deadly. With more than 70,000 drug related deaths each year, House Republicans know that American lives are on the line. This week, we passed The HALT Fentanyl Act, which will give law enforcement the tools they need to keep us safe and combat the deadly fentanyl crisis infiltrating communities across the nation. BEAN: BIDEN’S STUDENT LOAN BAILOUT WILL JUST THROW GASOLINE ON THE INFLATION FIRE |
Earlier this week, I spoke on the House floor in favor of H.J. Res. 45, a resolution that will prevent President Biden and the Department of Education from advancing their radical, costly, and illegal student loan bailout. We are already a whopping $32 trillion in debt, struggling right now to come to an agreement on how to pay our bills. The President’s student loan bailout will just throw gasoline on the inflation fire, making it even harder for families to put food on the table. It’s the last thing our economy needs. |
COMING UP: BEAN TO JOIN THIS WEEK IN JACKSONVILLE |
