Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean
05-20-23
This week marked the 60th anniversary of National Police Week. During this historic week, we recognize that it takes strength and courage to wear a badge. It takes commitment to respond to an emergency, to run towards gun fire rather than away. But for law enforcement—that’s just part of the job. While Crazy Town continues to demonize and verbally attack law enforcement, House Republicans know they are not the enemy—they are heroes. That’s why we passed a resolution to condemn efforts to defund local law enforcement agencies and the POLICE Act of 2023, which makes assaulting a police officer a deportable offense for an illegal immigrant. In addition, we passed the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act, to allow federal law enforcement officers in good standing to purchase their service weapon when that weapon is being retired. It’s now time for the Senate to join our efforts and back the blue. CONGRESSMAN BEAN DELIVERS FLOOR SPEECH ON NATIONAL POLICE WEEK |
We owe a debt to all our law enforcement officers. These patriots bravely start their shifts to protect our communities without ever knowing if they’ll get back home safely. We all share in the rewards of their service, but it’s our officers that bear the burdens. That’s why, During National Police Week, I want to say two words that our incredibly brave patriots don’t hear enough: Thank you. |
CONGRESSMAN BEAN: THIS IS CRAZY TOWN |
Typically, it matters whether or not a borrower can repay the lender. When I was a banker, it was my primary concern. Yet the Small Business Administration recently announced a series of proposed changes to its 7 (a) Lending Program that would remove all guardrails, increasing the risk that loans will default and result in taxpayers bailing out the program. |
BEAN ON WBOB: FOR MORE THAN 100 DAYS BIDEN HAS BEEN AWOL, REFUSING TO NEGOTIATE ON AMERICA’S DEBT |
This week, I joined the Ed Dean Morning Show on WBOB Radio, to discuss America’s skyrocketing debt, Biden’s failure to negotiate with Speaker McCarthy, the worsening border crisis, and more. The American people’s first line of defense from the Far-Left is the House of Representatives. Instead of running away from the problems our nation is facing, we are tackling them head on, as we fight to put the American people first. |
