Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean

Hi Citizens Journal Florida, One of the federal government’s top responsibilities is protecting the homeland, and a secure border is critical to our national security. Just a few months ago, I visited the southern border and witnessed chaos. Now that President Biden has ended Title 42 it’s going to be ultra-chaos. This week, House Republicans sent a message to the cartels, traffickers, and smugglers—this is the end. We passed the Secure the Border Act (H.R 2), a sensible solution to secure the border, prevent human trafficking, and defeat the drug cartels. To end the chaos and reestablish American sovereignty, we must enforce the law. BEAN ON BBC NEWS TONIGHT: “A COUNTRY WITHOUT BORDERS IS NOT A COUNTRY” |

On Thursday, I joined BBC News Tonight to discuss the unprecedented security and humanitarian crisis at the southern border. People in America are fed up with the open border. President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas can say the border is “secure”—but it’s not. I’ve been to the border and walked with Border Patrol agents, and they are swamped by the massive influx of illegal migrants. Now is the time to finish building the wall and protect the American people—and that’s what H.R. 2 will do. Additionally, we discussed America’s skyrocketing debt and how for 97 days President Biden has been AWOL, refusing to negotiate in good faith. |
CONGRESSMAN BEAN: “BIDEN’S STUDENT LOAN PLAN IS NUTS” |
![]() |
During a hearing in the House Education and Workforce Committee, I debated H.J. Res 45, a Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn Biden’s student loan bailout. With the price tag of nearly $500 billion, the Biden administration is attempting to advance his radical free college plan by transferring the debt from borrowers who willingly took out student loans to hardworking taxpayers who did not. According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bailout will cost taxpayers $315 billion over the next decade. That means every man, woman, and child will be taxed $3,527 to foot the bill for someone else’s degree. |
FIGHTING FOR A GOVERNMENT THAT WORKS FOR, NOT AGAINST SMALL BUSINESSES |
![]() |
On Thursday, I attended a House Small Business Subcommittee hearing on the decline in small business federal contracting. During the hearing, small business owners and entrepreneurs shared the same concerns: small businesses are getting pushed out of contracts by the government. Fortunately, I introduced the Freedom from Government Competition Act, a bill to put American business first, and increase opportunities for private industries to provide goods and services. If small businesses can do the job, then we do not need the federal government competing with them. |

Since the early days of our founding, art has been essential to the creation of America’s character. Even George Washington noted that it is the duty of every good citizen to encourage the arts. Congratulations to the three students who placed in this year’s competition! 1st Place— Emma Kruthoff, Peanut Butter Jelly Sandwich, Fernandina Beach High School 2nd Place—Gracie Batten, Urgence, Fernandina Beach High School 3rd Place— Alana Murray, An Offering, Fernandina Beach High School I am excited to have Emma’s artwork on display in the United States Capitol for the next year, and I’m proud to have had the opportunity to showcase the talent of all those who made submissions. |
