The CPRC joined with the California State Sheriffs’ Association, Peace Officers Research Association of California, and the California Association of Highway Patrolmen in an Amicus brief on California’s new law designating almost the entire state as a “sensitive place.” We are responsible for the sections B through F in the brief.
The week before last, I gave a couple of lectures at Lake Forest College and another talk at Western Michigan University’s Cooley Law School. There is a video of one of my talks at Lake Forest College. On Monday, March 11th, I will debate Sandy Levinson from UT-Austin Law School at the Fluno Center Main Auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on “Was the Second Amendment a Mistake or a Success?” The debate will last from 6:30 to 7:30.
With Mitch McConnell’s stepping down as the leader of the Republicans after the November election, my op-ed at The Federalist warns that the first person to campaign for the position, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), is not a friend of the private gun ownership. I think that the piece turned out well. Mark Levin was among those who Tweeted out the article.
I had an op-ed at Townhall on how Biden’s regulations are driving firearms dealers out of business. New regulations are making it difficult for large retailers to sell guns. I discussed this on Sebastian Gorka’s national radio show.
I discussed mass public shootings on a number of radio shows: Dallas’ giant 50,000-watt WBAP, Pittsburgh’s John Steigerwald Show, Denver’s Leland Conway, Cincinnati’s giant 50,000-watt WLW, and CRNTalk. One America’s News’ Tipping Point also had me on. Other interviews on NewsMax’s Wake up America and Fort Myers’ WFSX discussed how and why crime rates have changed.
We have also continued collecting cases where people legally carrying guns in public have stopped crimes. Here are the cases that we collected for November.
