Good morning, C&C, and Happy Thursday! Lots of interesting stuff in today’s roundup: jury finds Darrell Brooks guilty on 76 counts; Dr. Oz springs ahead in the betting markets as Fetterman becomes a jab-injury poster child; Elon Musk prepares to become the top Twit; Twitter employees make unintentionally hilarious demands; Ben Shapiro finally learns to love vaccine hesitancy; things get weird with Russia’s claim about Ukraine’s dirty bomb; and Russia demands an emergency meeting in the UN over Ukraine biolabs.

🗞*WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞

🔥 The Wall Street Journal ran a story yesterday headlined, “Darrell Brooks Found Guilty of Homicide in Waukesha Christmas Parade Attack.” Yesterday, after an 18-day trial, the 12-member Waukesha County jury found Brooks guilty on 76 counts, including six counts of murder.

Brooks represented himself during the trial, since his attorneys withdrew in September. He did everything he could to turn his trial into a circus — a premeditated strategy to manufacture a mistrial. But the judge showed extraordinary — even superhuman — patience, letting Brooks act out, and meticulously working through all the legal and procedural issues the defendant’s bizarre conduct created.

I have not previously reported on the trial, as curious as it was, because I immediately saw what Brooks was up to, and wanted to avoid any possibility, however slim, of helping him win a mistrial. In fact, Brook’s expected mistrial motion was ultimately based on a Reddit social media post.

Darrel Brooks is a monster, an evil demon, and he will be sentenced to life in prison, since Wisconsin does not permit the death penalty. I hope he finds salvation before he dies.

But there’s another aspect of this story; another criminal who hasn’t been charged yet. At the time of his parade rampage, Brooks, who has an extensive criminal record dating back to 1999, was out on $1,000 cash bail after being charged with punching and running over his child’s mother. It’s now widely recognized that he should never have been released, and certainly not on such low bail.

The self-described “progressive” district attorney who set his bail, John Chisholm, later claimed the low bail was “a mistake.” You don’t say.

According to a Fox News article about the story, in 2007 Chisholm admitted that his liberal bail policies would lead to additional crimes. “Is there going to be an individual I divert, or I put into treatment program, who’s going to go out and kill somebody?” Chisholm reportedly told the Milwaukee Sentinel-Journal. “You bet. Guaranteed. It’s guaranteed to happen. It does not invalidate the overall approach.”

Yes, John, it DOES invalidate the overall approach. You’re guiltier than Brooks. You should be in prison for life, too.

Chisholm’s office can be contacted at (414) 278-4646.

📉 Within the 24-hour period following the painful and embarrassing Fetterman-Oz debate, the gap in the betting markets widened spectacularly in Dr. Oz’s favor:

Yesterday I was thinking more about the awful decision the democrat party made to green-light the brain-damaged candidate’s participation in the unbelievably awkward debate. I’m beginning to think their error was even more profound than I originally thought.

Think about it.

Fetterman is the new poster child for covid vaccine injuries.

Because the race could determine control of the Senate, millions tuned in to watch Fetterman struggle and fail to complete a coherent sentence. My wife Michelle, a native Floridian with near-zero interest in Pennsylvania politics, sat through the entire debate.

For those of us who’d never heard of John Fetterman till after his jab-induced stroke, he was a rising star in democrat politics, fully expected to handily defeat Dr. Oz, who was widely seen as a weak candidate, despised by democrats for his Trump endorsement, but also not fully embraced by Republicans, for his liberal social views.

But Fetterman’s shot-stroke crippled more than just his mind; it also debilitated his candidacy and probably his political career. In hindsight, the democrats should have replaced him immediately after his stroke in April, while there was still time. It’s a sign of how strong a candidate he was that they pinned their hopes on a recovery.

It was a horrible mistake. The problem is, Fetterman ISN’T recovering. He’s getting worse.

The whole nation watched John Fetterman first advocate for shots, then get jabbed, then stroke out, then stumble for words through an entire, critical, high-visibility Senatorial campaign. Fetterman is the most visible, most often seen (and heard) vaccine victim. The democrats should pray John DOESN’T win, or else he’ll continue being a walking billboard for jab injuries for six more years in the Senate.

There’s a kind of metaphor here. Just as they’ve been ignoring jab injuries, democrats tried to ignore the elephant in John Fetterman’s damaged brain. But, despite their best efforts, his injury cannot be ignored. Neither will all the other jab injuries be ignored.

Let’s be clear. I don’t agree with Fetterman’s politics. But he’s a victim, just like all the other jab victims. They deserve to be seen and heard. Stop ignoring them.

🔥 Elon Musk will take possession of Twitter Corporation tomorrow at 5pm sharp. Yesterday, he tweeted a short clip of himself strutting into Twitter HQ. Carrying a sink.

Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!

Do you think he carried the sink just so he could make that silly joke? Or is that like, his favorite sink or something?

It’s been a long, strange road, and Musk’s ability to actually close the deal was uncertain until this week. Late last week, the rumors were that the Biden administration was pulling out the stops to block the sale. But then over the weekend, this happened:

Now, if Elon Musk were my client, and he told me that the White House was asking for help with Biden’s new color revolution in Iran, and was needing a satellite or two, I would have told Elon to lead off the negotiations with, “first you have to back off my Twitter deal.”

And what do you know? Three days later, Iranian rebels report their Starlink is working great, and Elon is strolling confidently into Twitter headquarters carrying a random piece of disconnected plumbing. Those satellites have been pretty handy.

Well. It COULD be a coincidence. What do YOU think?

Now Elon has to deal with Twitter’s Millennial workforce. An anonymous group of employees purporting to speak for “everybody” sent him a “demand letter” yesterday, which of course was immediately leaked. The two-page list of demands included a demand for respect, a demand for Musk to agree not to fire anybody, and a demand for the “right” to work from home. It’s childish nonsense, of course, but there was one unintentionally hilarious bit that caught my eye.

Under the heading “safety,” the anonymous employees demanded that Musk agree not to discriminate against them because of their “political beliefs:”

All the other classes besides political beliefs are ALREADY protected categories under federal law.

Isn’t it hilarious how Millennials view non-discrimination as a “safety” issue? The poor little darlings need a safe space. Second, you couldn’t possible overstate the IRONY that these employees — most of whom enthusiastically work in Twitter’s political censorship department — are now suddenly demanding to be protected from viewpoint discrimination.

I wonder if they think about karma much? Dishing out viewpoint discrimination is all fun and games, but taking it isn’t so hot.

Anyway, I don’t want to oversell this story. The letter was bravely signed “Twitter workers,” which could just be one lily-livered, zoom-masked numbskull terrified about having to go into the office. The rest of the Twitter team might be taking the transition perfectly professionally, and are smartly trying to keep their jobs by showing Twitter’s new management just how valuable they are.

At least, I HOPE that’s true. We’ll see!

Finally, hysterical liberals have been expressing a non-stop series of bad takes on Musk’s acquisition of Twitter. They can be summarized by this parody headline:

So.

🔥 Fast-talking conservative radio host Ben Shapiro ruffled many conservative feathers during the pandemic (including mine) when he started publicly advocating for the shots. He’s often been described as “an outspoken advocate” for the jabs, making him a conservative outlier.

The PostMillennial ran a story yesterday headlined, “’We Were Lied to by Everyone:’ Ben Shapiro Walks Back Support for Covid Vaccine.”

What really seems to have finally gotten through to Ben was the October 10th admission by a Pfizer executive that the drugmaker never actually tested whether the shots would reduce transmission of the virus. Now — a year and a half late — Ben finally gets it. On his Tuesday show, he expressed shock and dismay at all the lies:

“We were lied to by everyone. We were lied to by the scientists. We were lied to by Pfizer. We were lied to by the government. We were lied to by the Biden administration … I don’t like being lied to.”

Me neither. Ben continued:

“It is now perfectly clear that we were lied to. And we were lied to at a very high level and from very, very early on by both the vaccine companies, in terms of the ability of the vaccine to prevent transmission, and … by our politicians who apparently knew better.”

Ben, who is otherwise very smart, pointed out that during the vaccine rollout, the media was just parroting what Pfizer and Moderna claimed, because that WAS THE ONLY DATA. So the drugmakers MUST have lied. He said the data about reducing transmission was why he decided to get double vaccinated, and why he advocated for others to get jabbed, on his show and on his social media accounts.

But on Tuesday, Ben said he’s no longer sure he would have gotten the shots, if he’d had the correct information, given that he is not in an at-risk category for the virus.

Well, miracles DO happen.

I’m confident a lot of you are thinking, too late, Ben! And I don’t blame you. I don’t even blame you if you think Ben’s proved that he’s controlled opposition or something. For me, I’m willing to accept his belated apology and, while I wish he’d been open to considering the developing data last year, I recognize that he can still greatly help the movement with his platform, his voice, and his intellect.

I feel that way because I know a lot of other smart people — I’m talking about friends and colleagues and relatives — who also fell for the government’s medical fairy tale, just like Ben did. Some of those folks are starting to come around, too, and I’m happy to have them back.

We are going to have to figure out what to do with all these people, the people who were on the wrong side during the war, but who now recognize their mistake. As a Christian, I’m required to give them grace, the same grace I’ve received. But there’s a practical reason to forgive them, too.

The practical reason is that we are going to need them for the next part: making sure this never happens again.

Finally, although I’m not quite ready to start listening to Ben again, I am happily subscribed to the Daily Wire, and I am happy Ben’s finally landed back on planet reality. Also, you have to allow that, in Ben’s favor, is the fact that he always argued against mandates, both for masks and vaccines.

Welcome back, Ben.

🚀 I mentioned over the weekend that, over the last several days, Russia has been telling anyone who’ll listen they have intel that Ukraine plans to detonate a dirty nuclear bomb and is going to try to blame it on the Russians. Meanwhile, Ukraine and its allies claim that it’s really the RUSSIANS who are the ones planning a false-flag dirty bomb attack.

Yesterday, Russian military briefers said their information is specifically that Ukraine is planning to attack the Chernobyl nuclear site.

Russian state media: Ukraine plans to fire an Iskander missile filled with radioactive material that will detonate in the Chernobyl exclusive zone

There are some very, very weird aspects to this. First, corporate media has blacked out all the reports mentioning Chernobyl. They aren’t reporting it, even though from independent sources it seems obvious that Russia did, in fact, say this. Why doesn’t corporate media want to talk about it?

The second weird thing is that it’s Chernobyl. Well, maybe it’s weird, or maybe not. I’ve been remembering I heard a sermon about ten years ago on the Book of the Revelation, and the pastor was talking about the odd moment when Revelation describes “Star Wormwood:”

Then the third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star burning like a torch fell from heaven and landed on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter like wormwood oil, and many people died from the bitter waters.

Revelation 8:10-11.

In Ukrainian, the word “Chernobyl” is a name for mugwort, a species of artemesia — which is also known as common wormwood. Revelation’s “star burning like a torch” could easily describe a missile, and “fell from heaven” can also be translated as “fell from the sky.”

So.

Who knows. Either way, I’d sure feel a lot better if the Russians and Ukrainians would stop fighting with nukes over a molten nuclear disaster site buried under a giant concrete and lead coffin.

Maybe it’s about time we should consider shutting down the money-laundering proxy war? I’m just saying.

🚀 Because corporate media won’t report on this story, either, I had to go to Al-Ahed News, which ran a piece yesterday headlined, “Moscow Urges UN Probe into Ukrainian Biolabs.”

On Tuesday, Russia invoked Article VI of the Biological Weapons Convention in the United Nations, requiring a hearing in the Security Council in two days to debate establishing “a commission to investigate alleged violations of the convention prohibiting the production or use of biological weapons by Ukraine and the United States.”

Russian ambassador Vassily Nebenzia circulated a draft resolution ahead of a meeting set for today (Thursday), along with “a variety of documents and evidence that shed light on the true nature of military biological activities of the US and Ukraine on the Ukrainian territory.”

I’m trying to find a copy of the draft resolution, and will brief you on it if I can timely get hold of one.

Moscow alleges that the U.S. and Ukraine conducted secretive, joint biological research on Ukrainian soil, and says it has unearthed incriminating evidence of those illegal activities during the ongoing special military operation. The Russian Defense Ministry has been gradually releasing some of those materials in batches since at least March.

Russia is proposing to amend the weapons convention, advocating for three main ideas to make the landmark international agreement stronger and to make it more legally binding on the parties. Russia is calling for negotiations on a “legally binding protocol,” an “effective verification mechanism” and a “scientific advisory committee” within the group.

All of that sounds perfectly reasonable, if not immediately necessary, given what we’ve all suffered through the last two years of lab-leaked viruses.

Russia also proposes making the control mechanisms more transparent, with additional “confidence-building measures,” suggesting Convention participants must declare all their “activities in the biological sphere outside their national territory.”

That also sounds like a great idea. I’d be very interested in hearing from anyone who thinks they have an intelligent argument why we shouldn’t immediately agree to the Russian proposals. And I wish the Republicans in Congress would advocate for more transparency over biolabs like Wuhan and whatever else we have going on in Eastern Europe’s crack house, I mean Ukraine.

Have a terrific Thursday! I’ll see you back here tomorrow for a special essay on accountability.
