New study closes the case on natural immunity; DeSantis trumps teachers’ unions; beagles saved from big pharma; big pharma finances dems; mask mandates creeping back; anti-wokeness; and much more…
Good morning and Happy Saturday, C&C! Today’s roundup includes: a new study shows natural immunity is far superior to induced immunity; DeSantis trumps teachers’ unions; beagles saved from big pharma; big pharma finances dems; mask mandates creeping back; UK media covers Makary and Høeg essay; now Italy’s prime minister resigns; new San Fran DA cleans house; and Starbucks closes stores in woke cities.
Here’s a cut of my panel with Florida Representatives Erin Grall and Joe Harding (55 mins).
So far, I’ve been “hit” in at least one news article about the conference suggesting I’m a wacky conspiracy theorist. It also misidentified where I live. So, you know. Accuracy may vary.
🗞*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞
💉 A new peer-reviewed study published this week in JAMA is titled, “Long-term Immune Response to SARS-CoV-2 Infection Among Children and Adults After Mild Infection.” What? Natural immunity is a thing again?
The study concludes that antibodies to covid “may persist more than a year from infection in all age groups. This work provides further evidence of sustained immune response in children up to 1 year after primary SARS-CoV-2 infection.” Even from MILD infection.
And it showed a SUSTAINED immune response. In other words, mild infection confers an immune response that doesn’t “wane.” It doesn’t wane like some other kinds of artificially-induced immune responses that might come from certain drugs from companies like Pfizer and Moderna.
Furthermore, the researchers found “[c]hildren had significantly higher S-RBD IgG titers than older patients across all follow-up time points[.]” You don’t say. Significantly higher. How much higher? “[I]n patients younger than 3 years, 5-fold higher than adults[.]”
Five TIMES higher for younger kids than for older folks, underscoring how little the kids need the jabs.
Now, I am quite sure you’ll recall how Dr. Fauci and the CDC swore — they PROMISED — that natural immunity was inferior to vaccine-induced immunity. They said the “best” immunity came from a glass bottle. But this study proves it was all fake. It was all a lie. Ten pinnochio’s!
But hey, everybody makes mistakes. You trust the experts now, right?
🔥 An NBC News article reporting on my conference yesterday was headlined, “DeSantis’ Education Message Is Winning in Battleground States, Teacher Union Poll Finds.” Uh-oh!
NBC first reported about the Moms for Liberty conference and DeSantis’ speech (right before my panel began), then the article explained that a major U.S. teacher’s union recently told its members to stop focusing on CRT and trans issues, and get back to class sizes and teacher’s salaries. Why? Because the union took a national voter poll, testing DeSantis’ education messaging, and the results were DEVASTATING for the union’s woke issues.
NBC called the poll a “major set of red flags… for Democrats and teacher unions.” Weird! All the experts have said DeSantis was “extreme” and a “dictator” and stuff. How could they have been wrong?
One poll question found voters, by a +32 percentage-point margin, said they were more likely to vote for candidates who think public schools should focus less on teaching race and more on core subjects. Imagine that. By +27 points, voters said schools should be banned from teaching sexual orientation and gender identity to kids in kindergarten through third grade. Gosh! By +28 points, voters said transgender athletes should be banned from competing in girls’ sports. Who could’ve possibly predicted this?
Not teachers’ unions, obviously.
So … whoops! Talk about reading the room wrong. Democrats have been SO SURE that race, CRT, gender, LGBTQ+++ and trans issues in schools were the way forward. How could they have been so wrong?
Reacting swiftly to the bad news, union president Randi Weingarten pivoted, laying out a brand-new strategy this week, that blasts Republicans for made-up “extreme” proposals like “book-banning,” and emphasizes “expanding educational opportunities” for students. Buh bye, race, LGBTQ, and trans issues. Don’t let the door hit you in the pillowy parts.
NBC didn’t have any trouble finding some democrats who are agonizing over how their pet issues have fallen flat. It quoted former Democrat state House member and political organizer Sean Shaw, who marveled at DeSantis’ ability to “pick fights where he knows we have to respond and where it can be a problem for us.”
Shaw also admitted that his woke messaging isn’t getting through to ANYBODY. “Look, I’m a black man. All I want to do is talk critical race theory. But I can’t. It’s stupid. When you go to a black barbershop, they’re not talking about CRT. They’re talking about the price of gas and rent,” Shaw confessed.
“Openly gay” Florida state Senator Shevrin Jones, also a black Democrat, wondered, “Could we have done a better strategy and done a better job? Yes. We’re too reactionary.”
According to Jones, Democrats need to “do” a better strategy next time. But that’s not super helpful advice. You should probably always try to “do” a better strategy.
The article wraps up actually quoting DeSantis’ speech for the first time. At least they gave him that. But then they still gave Randi Weingarten the last word — and she used it to complain that Republicans weren’t willing to come together and work with Democrats “for the children.”
Please. Work together? Ten seconds ago you were calling us domestic terrorists.
Randi, we will NEVER EVER EVER forget what you did to kids during the pandemic. You’re a fake, a fraud. You don’t care about kids. You proved it beyond all possible doubt. Go away.
🐶 The New York Post reported a story this week headlined “4,000 Beagles in Need of Homes After Rescue From Virginia Facility.” That’s a lot of beagles. I overlooked the story at first, because the leftists unleashed a flood of misleading reports obscuring the real story. But the Post gets right to it, explaining “[t]he hounds were bred in the Envigo facility to be sold for use in pharmaceutical and biotech research, according to its website[.]”
Imagine that. Remember any other stories about beagles and biotech research lately?
Liberal media has been misleadingly labeling the outfit mistreating the beagles a “breeder” facility, so it sounds like the pups were just being raised for sale to individual owners or something. The New York Times’ story takes TEN PARAGRAPHS to get around to mentioning that the dogs were to be used for pharmaceutical research, but right after saying the animals were “well socialized,” suggesting that the research was for something innocuous like researching whether kids on the pediatric floor do better if they get to pet beagles every day.
But what “well socialized” really means in this context is that the beagles are easy to handle while the pharma researchers are experimenting on them. But you’d never ever know that from reading the NYT article.
If leftwing media can diss its dog-loving readers like this, Pharma must totally own the leftwing corporate media at this point. If there were any newspaper who’d decry animal experimentation on innocent beagles, you’d think that newspaper would be the New York Times. But no. They’re deceptively trying to thread the needle by decrying “poor conditions” while simultaneously protecting their masters by downplaying pharma’s role in the disaster.
🔥 The Florida Democrat party happens to be holding its “Leadership Blue” conference across the street at the JW Marriott, headlined by JB Pritzker, for some reason. A rumor making the rounds yesterday suggested Kamala Harris was making a surprise guest appearance to shore up the Florida troops.
Anyway, I looked it up, and there’s only one large sponsor. Guess who it is? Pfizer, of course! See for yourself.
It sure is nice of Pfizer to pay for the Dems’ swanky three-day conference, isn’t it?
😷 Mask mandates are BACK in the San Diego school district. Just like everybody knew they would be. According to a recent advisory, as of Monday morning indoor masking will be mandatory at all schools and district offices. Mandatory despite ample evidence that masks do NOT stop the spread, reduce transmission, or flatten the curve. But, shut up. Science!
San Diego parents, don’t give that school board a minute’s rest. Have at them.
In related news, a friend texted this morning advising his local Ace Hardware is requiring masks to enter again. Here we go! My view is, we need to push back as hard as we can this time, every single place mask mandates raise their irrational little heads, to try to stop it before it spreads like monkeypox.
🔥 Once again, we look to UK media for news about what’s going on in the U.S. on important topics of great public interest. Thursday, the UK Daily Mail ran an article with one of its classic extended headlines: “Health Experts Are Quitting the NIH and CDC in Droves Because They’re Embarrassed by ‘Bad Science’ – Including Vaccinating Children Under 5 to ‘Make Their Advice Palatable to the White House,’ Doctors Claim.”
The Daily Mail followed up on the Substack essay by Doctors Marty Makary and Tracey Høeg that I reported on yesterday, apparently recognizing it as newsworthy, despite the U.S. media’s complete embargo of the important report. The essay said that a number of scientists had quietly old the two doctors that morale is at an all-time low at the federal health agencies, and people are quitting and resigning in large numbers.
You’d think major unrest at the federal health agencies would interest Americans, especially after what we’ve all been through lately. You’d think so, but corporate media apparently disagrees, because they can’t even be bothered to DISPROVE Makary’s claims by making a phone call or two.
Of course, making a phone call or two might also get them an answer they don’t want. Makary and Høeg might be right.
The Mail quoted an anonymous NIH scientist saying, “They have no leadership right now. Suddenly, there’s an enormous number of jobs opening up at the highest level positions.” Referring to the approval of jabs for infants and toddlers, an FDA official said “The public has no idea how bad this data really is. It would not pass muster for any other authorization.”
Bad data? How could this be? The EXPERTS are all completely satisfied with Pfizer’s data. Weird.
But maybe it’s not surprising that corporate media is ignoring this story. It’s a triple-whammy: corporate media needs to protect the feds, it needs to protect pharma, and it hates the competition from a big story breaking on Substack.
🔥 Another European leader dropped out yesterday. They’re falling faster these days than dominoes scattering after Biden bumbles into the table. ZeroHedge ran an article about the news yesterday headlined, “Davos Loses Big Time… Draghi On the Way Out In Italy.”
What happened was, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi tendered his resignation to President Sergio Mattarella yesterday, who is ceremonially refusing to accept it — for now. But the cards appear to be dealt and it’s only a matter of time.
The cause of his resignation is complicated and murky; Italian media is all over the map and Italian politics are nearly incomprehensible. But ZeroHedge speculates that the urgency to remove the prime minister has more to do with how Italy’s energy sector is totally unprepared for the winter, a winter without Russian natural gas. The article also suggests that Draghi’s fall could be pushback against Davos for the political assassination of Boris Johnson.
The news comes while an Italian farmer strike is getting underway in that country.
Tony @mrtdogg_Italian farmers hit Milan with the message: “We are not slaves, we are farmers!” Still the media turn a blind eye.

🔥 Remember how ultra-woke District Attorney Chesa Boudin was too woke even for San Fransisco voters, and last month got removed in a recall? A CBS story back in June on the recall was headlined, “San Francisco Votes Overwhelmingly to Recall Progressive DA Chesa Boudin.”
After the recall, S.F. Mayor London Breed appointed a new DA, Brooke Jenkins, and she’s CLEANING HOUSE. According to the San Fransisco Guardian, Jenkins has “launched a massive staff overhaul, firing at least 15 employees and announcing the selection of four new lieutenants who will help lead her management and transition teams.”
Something’s happening. Remember: the West Coast usually leads the culture. This could be the start of something big and nationwide.
🔥 It’s not just San Fransisco. The Federalist reported on leaked audio of Starbucks’ newly-returned CEO Howard Schultz in an article headlined, “Starbucks CEO Blames Woke Elected Officials For 16 Store Closures In Dangerous Cities.”
Apparently Starbucks has been closing down stores in ultra-woke city centers like Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.. Officially the company has just generally cited “safety concerns.”
But in leaked footage of CEO Schultz speaking at an internal meeting, published on Thursday, the coffee-chain executive blamed democrat officials for creating a hostile environment in which it’s too unsafe to operate.
Schultz can be seen saying, “In my view, at the local, state, and federal level, these governments across the country and leaders, mayors, and governors and city councils have abdicated their responsibility in fighting crime and addressing mental illness.”
The CEO explained that he traveled to stores all around America to figure what was going on:
“We are beginning to close stores that are NOT unprofitable. We’re closing stores as a result of the… [sixty] sessions that we’ve had and, uh, it shocked me that one of the primary concerns that our retail partners have is for their own personal safety.
And then we heard the stories that go along with it, about what happens in our bathrooms. The issues of mental health. The issues of homelessness. And the issues of crime.
And Starbucks is a window into America. We have stores in every community. And we are facing things which the stores were not built for. And so we’re listening to our people and closing stores and this is just the beginning. There are gonna be many more.”

I think he’s right that this is just the beginning. Pay attention. Starbuck and San Fransisco are signs. The re-assertion of reason may be starting.
